| Edward V. McGinniss D.V.M (Dr. Ed) is a 1984 graduate of theUniversity ofIllinois Veterinary Medicine. He earned his bachelor’s degree prior to that from theUniversity ofIllinois,College ofAgriculture. He started the Animal Hospital of Lake Villa in 1993. Dr. Ed shares his home with three Australian Shepherds, Robbie, Reyna, and Finlea. Professional Associations
Dr. McGinniss is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association (ISVMA), the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), and the Lake County Veterinary Society. Dr. McGinniss has served on the executive board of the CVMA and is a past President. Dr. Ed has also served on the board of the ISVMA and is president of the Lake County Veterinary Society.

Meridith (Mer) joined our team in 1995 as a receptionist. Soon afterward, Dr. McGinniss’ dogs adopted her as their babysitter. Mer has continued to serve the clients and pets of Animal Hospital of Lake Villa in multiple capacities and is now Office Manager and Director of Marketing. She lives in the area with her husband and two children. The family shares their home with their two dogs, Buttercup (a Hurricane Katrina survivor) and one of Buttercup’s pups, Mr. Chew.Return to the top. |
| Carolwas hired in 1998 as a receptionist. She came to us with ten years experience as a receptionist for an animal hospital in Arizona. Carol keeps the reception area running like a well-oiled machine. Her input has been invaluable as we have grown throughout the years. Carol is also the pet food manager, which involves ordering prescription diets and managing the food inventory. Carol shares her life with her husband and son. Everyone enjoys her two French Bulldogs, Dahli and Daphne, who frequently come to work with her. Carol’s family also enjoys the company of Wizzard, Nip, and Tuck, all Siamese mix cats.Return to the top. |

Chris joined us in 2002 as a veterinary assistant. He started without previous veterinary experience but proved to have excellent aptitude for animal nursing. He soon developed impeccable nursing skills and earned the trust and confidence of the entire staff in his nursing and anesthesia monitoring duties. Over the years Chris, has added the job of Inventory Manager and is responsible for our medical supplies. This is a huge task that he takes as seriously as his medical duties. Chris and his wife share their home with Romba, an English Bulldog, a parrot, and a gecko.Return to the top. |

Alexus (Allie) joined out team in 2010. Allie is in college and plans to continue on to veterinary school. We have enjoyed working with and teaching new skills to Allie this summer. A very motivated student and worker, we look forward to holidays when Allie can come back to us.
